Feeding our brains for the better

We are a UK charity dedicated to

optimising brain health and wellbeing

through the power of nutrition

How do we do this?

We believe that good nutrition should be accessible to all, to positively transform lives and communities. Our unique approach positions us as pioneers in the field, bridging the gap between brain health and nutrition across diverse populations and settings. We provide evidence-based educational programmes and interventions to inspire people to make better choices to unlock their full potential.

We deliver meaningful change through:

  • Innovative nutritional research

  • Customised data

  • Evidence-based insights

  • Education and bespoke technology-driven programmes

All of our work is supported by LANAH – our cutting-edge digital platform,
developed from over 40 years of expertise in nutrition and brain health.

What do we do?

Our work spans multiple settings, including prisons, communities, schools, youth offending institutions (YOIs), perinatal services, and corporate environments, where we empower individuals to make informed nutritional choices that support cognitive performance, mental well-being, and emotional resilience.

Our focus is to support brain development across all life stages. This includes crucial periods such as pregnancy and early childhood, where nutrition directly influences brain growth and future cognitive abilities, and adulthood, where maintaining brain health becomes essential for emotional and cognitive resilience.

We use actionable insights to inspire practical tools that empower individuals to make informed dietary choices, improving focus, mood, and long-term health outcomes.

Our evidence-based approach ensures that everyone - from employees in corporate environments to individuals in vulnerable communities - can unlock their full potential through better nutrition.

We deliver real-world success by improving outcomes in challenging environments, demonstrating the tangible benefits of our approach.

Our mission is to empower individuals and communities to enhance their brain health through targeted nutritional education and interventions.

Who do we work with?

Our three primary audiences are:

  1. Public sector institutions, such as prisons and NHS services

  2. Communities with limited access to nutritious food

  3. Corporate partners invested in employee wellbeing and social impact

The common problem they all face is the significant impact of poor nutrition on brain health, focus, and overall wellbeing, leading to diminished productivity, increased mental health issues, and societal costs.

We solve this problem by helping people to optimise their nutrition. We provide tailored nutrition education and interventions that educate individuals to make better dietary choices, thereby improving their mental and physical wellbeing.

What solutions do we deliver?

FOR OUR PUBLIC SECTOR PARTNERS

Our public sector partners include the Ministry of Justice, His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS) and the NHS. They continually see the significant impact of poor nutrition on brain health, focus, life choices and other damaging behaviours, contributing to a higher social burden, and poor outcomes for individuals in care. We tailor our programmes to deliver measurable improvements in behaviour, mental health, and overall outcomes, leading to safer, more effective institutions and services.

FOR OUR COMMUNITY PARTNERS

We work tirelessly in communities with limited access to nutritious food. These communities disproportionately suffer from long-term cognitive, emotional, and physical health challenges, which perpetuate cycles of poverty and disadvantage. We break these cycles by implementing programmes that create enhanced knowledge of, and access to nutritious food, improving mental and physical health.

FOR OUR CORPORATE PARTNERS

Our corporate partners are diverse, but united by their desire to improve their employee wellbeing. Their main challenge is that a lack of nutritional knowledge and not eating the right foods leads to diminished employee wellbeing, reduced productivity, increased costs and weaker corporate ESG performance. We help create a more dynamic, healthier, and focused workforce, resulting in greater team and individual productivity, an improved corporate image and stronger ESG leadership.

"Think Through Nutrition is making real, lasting change. By helping people understand how small, simple changes to their diet can drastically improve brain health, they’re enabling both individuals and organisations to take some control of their wellbeing and make smarter choices for a healthier future."
