Community Nourishment
Campaign overview
Think Through Nutrition is collaborating with a surplus food redistribution charity to improve food knowledge and measure quality of life outcomes for families facing food poverty.
The UK, though the sixth richest country globally, faces a staggering poverty crisis – today, one in four households with children experiences do not have access to sufficient food, or food of an adequate quality. Poor diet contributes to various health issues, including diabetes, stroke, heart diseases, with mental health costs surpassing those of cancer and heart disease combined.
Through LANAH, our digital nutrition programme, we aim to support individuals and families dealing with food insecurity to make the best food choices available to them, reinforcing the link between food and mood and improving their quality of life.
With your support, we can:
Ensure our LANAH digital nutrition education programme is accessible to 90,000 low-income London residents
Empowering individuals and families to learn, track and measure their progress
Offer tools and motivation for making positive brain health and wellbeing choices, regardless of financial and food constraints
Foster knowledge and sharing to bolster family and community health
Impact and reach
Our goal is to build resilience and improve lives for 90,000 Londoners, as well as to evidence the impact of improved nutrition on the wellbeing, physical health, school and workplace performance of those dealing with food insecurity.
We aim to create a case for change for government and food industry policy with a tried and tested model for low-income communities across the UK.
