Nurturing Futures
Campaign overview
Think Through Nutrition is bringing together leading global organisations, researchers and experts in the field of nutrition, psychology, and perinatal care to develop a first-of-its kind research and education study for women accessing a Specialist Perinatal Service, many of whom live in areas of significant deprivation or have experienced significant trauma.
One in four women experience mental health problems during pregnancy and up to 24 months postpartum. Inadequate nutrition worsens these challenges, affecting the health of both mother and child.
Our goal is to improve food knowledge, habits, and the overall health of 3,000 women and children, enabling a healthier, brighter future.
With your support, we will:
Develop an accessible and scalable dietary education programme tailored for perinatal and postnatal women, specifically those needing mental health support
Provide essential supplements, healthy meals, and gradual cooking skill development for women and infants, starting with daily meal deliveries and transitioning to budget-friendly, quick meal preparation
Improve the nutritional status, cognitive health, mental health, and gut health of participating women, enhancing their quality of life and ability to care for their children
Foster a healthier generation of children by improving their IQs and reducing the prevalence of mental health disorders
Impact and reach
To deliver this project, we will adapt and merge successful elements from previous studies and pilot programmes led by Think Through Nutrition and our research partners.
Launching initially with 3,000 women and children, this project has the potential to create a model that will transform the lives of countless women and children, both in the UK and worldwide.
